The year 2021 marks the 100th birthday of the
prominent Russian mathematician and academician Nikolai Nikolaevich
Yanenko (1921-1984), whose life work was devoted to
the development of both, analytical and numerical methods to the solution of
differential equations.
The School of Mathematics, has thus decided to
organize an international conference 'Analytical and Numerical Methods in
Differential Equations (Yanenko 100)' dedicated to
Academician Yanenko's s memory. The conference will
be organized jointly with Durban University of Technology in South Africa and
the Khristianovich
Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Russian Academy of
Sciences in Novosibirsk, with the School of Mathematics as the lead organizer.
Conference Topics:
Group 1:
Analytical methods for solving differential equations
-
Methods of finding solutions
-
Symmetries and conservation laws
-
Singularity Analysis
-
Mathematical modelling in continuum mechanics
Group 2: Numerical Methods
-
Method of fractional steps
-
Numerical analysis
-
Numerical modelling
The
conference language is English.

The
conference organizers are encouraging 20-30 minute oral presentations on
research work related with the main conference topics. Abstracts of no more
than 1 page in length should be submitted as early as possible, but not later
than 30 June 2021 to be considered for inclusion in the conference program.
Notification of acceptance for presentation will be sent out within one month
of receipt of the abstract.
Conference Proceedings:
Peer
refereed papers will be published in by an internationally recognized
publisher.
Papers will be peer-reviewed and limited to
eight pages each. There will be a
modest page charge to defray the costs of publication.
